Daisy Andria Gates, born May 16, 1979 in Miami, Fl. to Arlene Walthour and Jim Gates. Her education started at Skyway Elementary School on to Miami Carol City Junior High. Daisy’s young adult education rocked off at Miami Carol City Senior high where she attended for two years and transferred to Hialeah Miami Lakes Senior High, where she graduated in the class of nineteen hundred and ninety seven. In her last year of school Pastor Verna Dupont prophesied to her that, “God wants to use her voice”, not knowing when this was going to take place; Daisy was expected to attend the United States Army for a period of four years, a month later after graduation but only for seven months and was discharged due to back injury. In the year of two thousand she was introduced to C.E.O. (Christ Exalted Order) by her Aunt Catherine Keys. C.E.O. is a youth organization that consisted of many youth & young adults that were working toward their career goals through whatever gift God blessed them with from singing to rapping etc. She was acquainted with the C.E.O. family and started to do what God had planned for her to do. She wrote a song that is on C.E.O.’s compilation track titled, “The Way Out”. Daisy was also honored to be interviewed on Hot105 and have the song, “The Way Out” played on the station as well. On February 24 two thousand and one she shared the stage with artists such as John P. Kee, Vanessa Bell Armstrong & Dorothy Norwood to name a few at The First Annual Praises In The Park Family Day & Concert. In Spring 2002 she began her college education at Florida Memorial University and became a member of the Pop Ensemble and Florida Memorial Ambassador Chorale. She and other students of the Pop Ensemble was favored to sing on stage with the late Lou Rawls and went on a Spring tour with the Florida Memorial Ambassador Chorale in 2003 where they were featured on the Montel Williams show. She also earned credentials as being placed on the “Deans List”, honor roll list and “Who’s Who Among American Universities & Colleges” book in 2003. Her last year of college she took a challenge at playing the violin and started playing professionally at a very fast pace. She is grateful for being taught violin lessons from one of the top Jazz violinist in the world, Nicole Yarling. On April 29 two thousand and six she graduated “Cum Laude” from Florida Memorial University. Daisy entered into the annual Veterans Talent Showcase in two thousand and nine and played a violin solo, “America The Beautiful” and won first place instrumental solo in the state of Florida and second place in the nation. She was also favored to play at the city of Opa-Locka state of address and was featured in the "Neighbors" section of the Miami Herald on February 7, 2010 for the city of Opa-Locka. In February of two thousand and ten she become a co-host on “It’s A Rap” with D.J. Jewel of www.yourtalkbizradio.com She’s looking forward to accomplishing more and helping out in the community and the world with her gifts, talents as well as her billions. Her two mottos in life are, “ I can do all things through Christ Jesus that strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 and ”If you want to be somebody if you want to go somewhere, you better wake up and pay attention”. She will always represent Christ to the fullest in life and never forget the people who helped her through the adversities in life.
