What’s the score and who's keeping record? from the school yard days hasn't that always been the question everyone wanted the answer to. Go ahead and laugh! but this time the tables may turn as now the Germans have the taste of revenge on their tongues and a shot a showing the world how great of a team they really are. Some say that Spain’s win in 2008 against Germany was a fabrication manufacture by the referees 1-0 was the score since last the grass stained Soccer Cleats of the Germans treaded off the fields in a lost buy the hands of Spain Will this be an upset all over again or will they be triumphant.Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1708327069490513677.post-13845796583737359942010-07-04T14:15:00.000-07:002010-07-04T14:27:00.708-07:00Organic women's retreat<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6qgxnA-8iCE0bDn-WyklzhxYKBU8bvlNbIB7XHdy_HKJBFrRQsqwZbG2XT8UOrAz_SAqjD-a6rgy5I_GZi0WN_BDmdHtNGmAPS2QX6ZW6xLY_gLRLkOgcZkASKKeemCWESTPZmVsOScY/s1600/Simone.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="100" rw="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6qgxnA-8iCE0bDn-WyklzhxYKBU8bvlNbIB7XHdy_HKJBFrRQsqwZbG2XT8UOrAz_SAqjD-a6rgy5I_GZi0WN_BDmdHtNGmAPS2QX6ZW6xLY_gLRLkOgcZkASKKeemCWESTPZmVsOScY/s200/Simone.jpg" width="150" /></a>In a time when peoples hopes are nearly gone, dare to dream! the organic woman's retreat and trade show July 10 2010, just because the stocks are down don't mean that Americas productivity and innovative creativity has left south Florida, Are you a women who has a great idea or product you think might change the world we live in making it more clean for all who live in it? Whitman, better known as Meg, has had a storied career. A graduate of Princeton and Harvard Business School, she worked at Procter & Gamble ( PG - news - people ) before moving to California with her husband, a neurosurgeon who now works at Stanford Hospital. After successful stints at consulting firm Bain & Co., Disney ( DIS - news - people ) and Hasbro ( HAS - news - people ), she joined eBay ( EBAY - news - people ), then a small tech firm with 30 employees, as chief executive. In 2004 she debuted on Forbes' World's Billionaires List.<p><br>It was her own mother, Whitman writes in a book published by Random House this January, titled The Power of Many, who gave her "a bias toward action." In an interview with ForbesWoman earlier this year, Whitman discussed the relationship, explaining that her mother, who eventually learned Mandarin and visited China 80 times, had taught her that "you don't have to be perfect to be a leader, but you can't be timid."<p>Now that bias is leaning toward the governor's mansion, as Whitman campaigns to replace Republican California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. During her campaign she has highlighted her mother's adventurous spirit in driving Meg and her two siblings from their home in Long Island on camping trips to California. Today she includes her husband and her two sons as influences in her love of the West Coast. They are sporty California residents, according to her campaign website, and as such are reasons she is so dedicated to the economically ailing state. "If we let California fail, we all fail," she says. "And we love California too much to let it fail. We have to work together to make it the place of our dreams again."<p>For Whitman, motherhood was not a deterrent to her success, but an aid, lending what she now says is inspiration and support during her current political endeavors.<p>That makes her somewhat unusual. Whitman is one of just 70 billionaire moms in the world, and one of only eight mothers to have created her own billion-dollar fortune. (By contrast, there are 555 self-made billionaires who are fathers). The rest inherited fortunes from fathers or late husbands, including the world's richest woman and mom, Christy Walton, whose husband John, son of the founder of Wal-Mart Stores ( WMT - news - people ), died in 2005 when his private plane crashed in Wyoming. <p>Some other enterprising moms include Zara's Rosalia Mera, whose two kids apparently watched her make dressing gowns, just before she and her now-ex husband Amancio Ortega launched the Spanish clothing line. The Gap ( GPS - news - people )'s Doris Fisher and Benetton's Guiliana Benetton also started clothing companies that went global and made their families among the richest in the world.<p>Joanne (JK) Rowling, author of the Harry Potter book franchise, has told the story of her difficult days in Edinburgh, Scotland, where she had moved with her first child after a painful divorce to be near her sister. Rowling now has two more children with her current husband. The advance from the manuscript for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which she wrote in cafes in Edinburgh, paid rent on the meager flat she shared with her first child while they were subsisting on welfare.<p>Those who inherit opportunity often use it to continue their own ambitious climb. Abigail Johnson, with her father, controls Fidelity Investments. The mutual fund company, the largest in the U.S., was founded by her grandfather. She was promoted to chairman of the board of fixed income and asset allocation funds last year, and is believed by some to be her father's chosen successor. She has raised two children with her husband.<p>Asia's richest woman, Savitri Jindal, the widowed matriarch of OP Jindal Group, a steel and power conglomerate in India, has nine children, more than any woman on the list. While she is non-executive chairman, her four sons have divvied up the business and each run their own independent units. In the meantime she keeps herself busy with politics, having been re-elected in the assembly elections in her home state of Haryana last year.<p>But being a billionaire mom--or for that matter, the child of a billionaire mom--isn't always easy.<p><br>Liliane Bettencourt, heiress to the L'Oreal cosmetics fortune, and her daughter have reportedly been off speaking terms as a result of Bettencourt's patronage of a younger companion, an artist her daughter alleges accepted more than a billion dollars in gifts from the heiress. The relationship between Bettencourt and her 56-year-old daughter, Françoise Bettencourt-Meyers, is reflected in an unhappy light amid a legal complaint filed by Bettencourt-Meyers, who is dubious of her mother's judgment in spending her wealth. Liliane denies all, but has still been ordered to undergo psychological testing before a July trial.<p>A similarly unfortunate rift happened when Marilyn Carlson Nelson, chief executive of the Minnesota-based hospitality company Carlson Cos., relieved her son from his role as chief operating officer in 2007. Curtis Nelson, who reportedly used controlled substances and was arrested at least once for drunk driving, was terminated for "explosive," "inconsistent" behavior, derailing the trajectory he may have expected to follow to head the company himself.Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1708327069490513677.post-13528507128478295132010-05-06T05:48:00.001-07:002010-05-06T05:48:54.221-07:00WOMEN'S RETREAT<div style="font-family:tahoma, new york, times, serif;font-size:18pt;color:#000000;"><DIV></DIV> <DIV>WOMEN'S RETREAT <BR>YOUR INVITED <BR>FREE MASSAGES FREE FACIALS GIFTS TRIPS AND MORE .EMPOWERMENT FINANCIAL EVENT.</DIV> <DIV>Want More info .(954)638-2672</DIV> <DIV><BR> </DIV> <P align=center> </P> <P align=center> </P> <P align=center><STRONG><EM><FONT color=#ff0000 size=5> YTBRADIO.COM</FONT></EM></STRONG></P> <P align=center> &</P> <P align=center> <FONT color=#00007f><STRONG>HOODSTOCK</STRONG></FONT></P> <P align=center> <FONT color=#82393c><STRONG>DJ RAW</STRONG></FONT></P> <P align=center> Hollywood Fl. 33020</P> <P align=center>(954)638-2672</P> <P> </P> <P> <STRONG><EM><A href="http://www.thebestaut/" target=_blank rel=nofollow><FONT size=1><A href="http://www.thebestautodetailer.com/" target=_blank rel=nofollow>WWW.THEBESTAUT</FONT></A></EM></STRONG><STRONG><EM><FONT size=1>ODETAILER.COM</A></FONT></EM></STRONG></P> <P align=center> <A href="http://www.yougottotravel.com/" target=_blank rel=nofollow>WWW.YOUGOTTOTRAVEL.COM</A></P> <P align=center> </P> <P align=center> </P> <P align=center> </P> <P align=center> </P> <P align=center> </P> <P align=center> </P> <DIV></DIV></div><br> Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1708327069490513677.post-11175335786890715982010-05-04T14:31:00.001-07:002010-05-04T14:31:03.656-07:00<div style="font-family:times new roman, new york,times,serif;font-size:12pt"><div><b>May 4</b> <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="5"> <tbody> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"><b>1471</b></td> <td> </td> <td align="left" valign="top">In England, the Yorkists defeat the Landcastians at the battle of Tewkesbury.</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"><b>1626</b></td> <td> </td> <td align="left" valign="top">Indians sell Manhattan Island for $24 in cloth and buttons.</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"><b>1715</b></td> <td> </td> <td align="left" valign="top">A French manufacturer debuts the first folding umbrella.</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"><b>1776</b></td> <td> </td> <td align="left" valign="top">Rhode Island declares independence from England.</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"><b>1795</b></td> <td> </td> <td align="left" valign="top">Thousands of rioters enter jails in Lyons, France, and massacre 99 Jacobin prisoners.</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"><b>1814</b></td> <td> </td> <td align="left" valign="top">Napoleon Bonaparte disembarks at Portoferraio on the island of Elba in the Mediterranean.</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"><b>1863</b></td> <td> </td> <td align="left" valign="top">The Battle of Chancellorsville ends when Union Army retreats.</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"><b>1864</b></td> <td> </td> <td align="left" valign="top">Union General Ulysses S. They are pushing the envelope and I am very happy for them," said Dr. Thomas Romo, chief of facial and <span style="border-bottom: 2px dotted rgb(54, 99, 136); cursor: pointer;" class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1272087655_2">reconstructive surgery</span> at <span class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1272087655_3">Lenox Hill Hospital</span> in New York.</p> <p>The Spanish patient, who was not identified, now has a completely new face from his hairline down and only one visible scar, which looks like a wrinkle running across his neck, said <span class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1272087655_4">Barret</span>, who headed the 30-member surgical team.</p> <p>The man cannot yet speak, eat or smile, but he can see and swallow saliva, the surgeon said. He is expected to be able to eat and breathe on his own in about a week.</p> <p>"If you look him in the face, you see a normal person," Barret said. "He sits up, he walks in his hospital room and he watches television."</p> <p>Before the transplant, the 30-year-old patient had had nine surgeries and could only breathe with the help of a ventilator and get nourishment from a <span class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1272087655_5">feeding tube</span>. He also had problems speaking.</p> <p>The 2005 accident, in which he shot himself with a shotgun, essentially destroyed his face from the eye sockets down, although his eyes and eyesight were unaffected.</p> <p>During the daylong operation, Barret said his team cut off the donor's face below the eye sockets and attached the bone structure along with muscles and nerves to the recipient "in one piece."</p> <p>"Imagine a skull. It is as if with a saw, we cut everything just below the upper part of the eye sockets, as if we were sawing all that," he said. Then, "everything attached to the mask is placed on the recipient."</p> <p>"It is a little bit like the movie with John Travolta and Nicolas Cage," the surgeon said, referring to the 1997 thriller "Face/Off", in which the face of the character played by Cage is grafted onto the Travolta character's skull in an identity switch.</p> <p><span style="border-bottom: 2px dotted rgb(54, 99, 136); cursor: pointer; background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% transparent;" class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1272087655_6">Face transplants</span> in the real world have gained acceptance since the first partial transplant almost five years ago in France. Patients don't look like the dead people whose skin and facial features they now live with. And skeptical bioethicists and doctors groups have warmed to the idea for patients who have tried <span class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1272087655_7">reconstructive surgery</span> with little success.</p> <p>There have been 10 partial transplants worldwide, including in the United States, China and elsewhere in Spain, but this is the first full <span class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1272087655_8">face transplant</span>, Barret said.</p> <p>The Spanish operation is similar to a near-total face transplant carried out by a team led by Dr. Maria Siemionow in 2008 in Cleveland, on a woman who was also shot in the face.</p> <p>But the Spanish case "seems to us to be more complex," said Neil Huband, a spokesman for the UK Facial Transplantation Research Team, based at the <span class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1272087655_9">Royal Free Hospital</span> in London.</p> <p>Barret would give no details about the donor except to say that doctors try to choose donors of similar weight, height, facial measurements and skin tone as the recipient. </p><p> As in earlier operations, the Spanish patient had undergone psychiatric tests to determine if he would be able to confront having a totally new face, the hospital said. </p><p> Still, rejection is a possibility whenever someone receives an organ or cells from someone else because the body regards this as foreign tissue. Rejection, which can be life-threatening, can come on suddenly, within days or weeks of the operation, or occur years later. </p><p> Romo said the patient and doctors are certainly euphoric now but the patient is only beginning to recover and even three years from now his body could reject the face. </p><p> "How do you get a patient psychologically ready for that? I think that is a concern that I don't think anybody has dealt with yet," he said. </p><p> Unlike operations involving vital organs like hearts and livers, transplants of faces or hands are done to improve quality of life — not extend it. The <a href="http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/macbook-pro-2008.aspx" title="older MacBook Pro">older MacBook Pro</a> had an Nvidia GeForce 9400M as its integrated card, and a GeForce 9600M GT (with 256MB of memory) as its discrete GPU. <br><br>However, users no longer have to log out or suffer through a few seconds delay while the notebook switches chips; the changeover is now seamless and instantaneous. Unlike Nvidia's Optimus technology, which routes everything through the integrated GPU (but produces the same result), Apple's method shuts off the GPU that's not in use. In this manner, Apple claims better battery life while still delivering more horsepower when needed. When software senses that an application is using graphics frameworks such as Core Graphics, OpenGL, or Quartz Composer, it will turn on the discrete GPU. Users can also disable automatic switchable graphics in the Energy Saver control panel, but doing so will cause the discrete GPU to stay on at all times. <br><br>On 3DMark06 (running in Boot Camp), the discrete Nvidia GPU scored 6,746, double the category average and 800 points above the older 15-inch MacBook Pro. However, it was outperformed by the HP Envy 15 (7,236), which uses an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4830 GPU and 1GB of video memory, and the <a href="http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/acer-aspire-5740g-6979.aspx" title="Acer Aspire 5740G">Acer Aspire 5740G</a> (7,166), which has an ATI Radeon HD 5650 GPU and 1GB of VRAM. The <a href="http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/asus-ul30jc-1a.aspx" title="Asus U30JC-1A">ASUS U30Jc-1A</a>, which has similar switchable graphics but a less powerful Nvidia 310M graphics chip, notched just 3,711. </p><p align="CENTER"><img src="http://www.laptopmag.com/review/compgraph.php?header=3DMark06&unit=Score%20%28Higher%20is%20Better%29&bar[0][l]=Apple%20MacBook%20Pro%2015-inch%20%28Core%20i7%29&bar[0][0][c]=orange&bar[0][n]=Boot%20Camp&bar[0][0][v]=6746.00&bar[0][0][d]=6,746&bar[1][l]=Category%20Average%20%28as%20of%2004/2010%29&bar[1][0][c]=gray&bar[1][0][v]=3359.511111&bar[1][0][d]=3,360"><br><a href="http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/apple-macbook-pro-15-inch-core-i7.aspx?mode=benchmarks#3DMark06">Compare 3DMark06 results with similar laptops</a></p><br><br>Of course, with a 3DMark06 score exceeding 6,500, the MacBook Pro's gaming performance is nothing to sneeze at. With graphics set to maximum and the screen resolution at native, the machine notched 69 frames per second in <em>World of Warcraft</em>; similar settings in <em>Far Cry 2</em> produced a somewhat lackluster 24 fps. While that's about 10 fps higher than the previous MacBook Pro, it's about 10 fps below that of the Acer Aspire 5740G. It should be noted that both tests were run in Boot Camp, and that gamers should experience better performance in a Mac environment. <br><br>In a few anecdotal tests, we didn't see much difference between the new and old MacBook Pros. It took both systems just 6 seconds to open a 417.8MB TIF file in Photoshop CS4. We then used the same liquefy filter on the image, and timed how long it took for the notebooks to apply the change. The newer MacBook Pro finished the job in 2 minutes and 38 seconds, while the older MacBook Pro took just 16 seconds longer. We then imported a 1.66GB MPEG-4 into iMovie; the newer MacBook Pro took 10 minutes and 11 seconds to complete this task, and the older MacBook Pro was just 18 seconds behind it.<h3>Battery Life and Wireless</h3><p>We never expect stellar battery life out of 15-inch notebooks, yet that's where the MacBook Pro really stands out. On our LAPTOP Battery Test (continuous web surfing over Wi-Fi) the notebook lasted 7 hours and 54 minutes, more than double the category average (3:40), and akin to endurance you'd see on an ultraportable or thin-and-light. Even then, comparable notebooks were found wanting: The Sony Vaio Z lasted just 5:21 on stamina mode, and the ASUS U30Jc gave out after 7:07. While the older MacBook Pro managed 8:06, the endurance on the newer model is all the more impressive when you consider its increased power.</p><p align="CENTER"><img src="http://www.laptopmag.com/review/compgraph.php?header=LAPTOP%20Battery%20Test&unit=Hours%20%28More%20is%20Better%29&bar[0][l]=Apple%20MacBook%20Pro%2015-inch%20%28Core%20i7%29&bar[0][0][c]=orange&bar[0][n]=OS%20X&bar[0][0][v]=7.9&bar[0][0][d]=07:54&bar[1][l]=Category%20Average%20%28as%20of%2004/2010%29&bar[1][0][c]=gray&bar[1][0][v]=3.7&bar[1][0][d]=03:40"><br><a href="http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/apple-macbook-pro-15-inch-core-i7.aspx?mode=benchmarks#LAPTOP%20Battery%20Test">Compare LAPTOP Battery Test results with similar laptops</a></p></span></span></div> </div><br> Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1708327069490513677.post-55852556067880420262010-04-23T07:11:00.001-07:002010-04-23T07:11:10.103-07:00Macbook Pro<div style="font-family:times new roman, new york,times,serif;font-size:12pt"><div><h1 style="margin: 0px; Now, the Cupertino-based company has incorporated a few important upgrades under the hood to supercharge this elegant machine (starting at $1,799; $2,199 as configured). These enhancements include the long-awaited <a itxtdid="20471792" target="_blank" href="http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/apple-macbook-pro-15-inch-core-i7.aspx#" style="text-decoration: underline ! important; font-weight: normal ! important; border-bottom: 0.1em solid darkgreen ! important; padding-bottom: 1px ! important; color: darkgreen ! important; background-color: transparent ! important; background-image: none; padding-top: 0pt; padding-right: 0pt; padding-left: 0pt;" classname="iAs" class="iAs">Intel Core i7 processor</a>, capable of overclocking on the fly, and automatic graphics-switching technology that makes moving from integrated to discrete graphics mode all but invisible to the user. Best of all, even with the jump from Core 2 Duo to Core i7, Apple has managed to deliver all-day battery life. These are collectively welcome improvements, but are they enough to justify the premium? Yup.</p><h3>Design</h3><p>The 15-inch MacBook Pro sports the same carved-from-a-single-chunk-of-metal unibody design as its brethren, with a sturdy aluminum chassis and rounded edges. The overall look is classy and modern, though it makes upgrading individual components (like the RAM and hard drive) more difficult, as the entire bottom must be unscrewed. <br><br>The MacBook Pro has the same dimensions as before (14.4 x 9.8 x 1 inches), but it weighs a slightly heavier 5.6 pounds. While we definitely felt the extra heft while carrying the machine home, it did fit in our messenger bag, which is more than we can say about most 15-inch notebooks. The only system that comes close is the <a itxtdid="17850746" target="_blank" href="http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/apple-macbook-pro-15-inch-core-i7.aspx#" style="text-decoration: underline ! important; font-weight: normal ! important; border-bottom: 0.1em solid darkgreen ! important; padding-bottom: 1px ! important; color: darkgreen ! important; background-color: transparent ! important; background-image: none; padding-top: 0pt; padding-right: 0pt; padding-left: 0pt;" classname="iAs" class="iAs">HP</a> Envy 15, which has an equally slim and stylish profile (15.0 x 9.6 x 1 inches) and weighs a lighter 5.2 pounds. Regardless, this notebook will take up your entire tray table if you take it on a flight.</p><h3>Heat</h3><p>The 15-inch MacBook Pro held up well during our heat test, where we play a Hulu video at full screen for 15 minutes; the space between the G and H keys remained a balmy 84 degrees Fahrenheit, and the touchpad measured just 71 degrees. However, the back rear bottom of the <a itxtdid="20515607" target="_blank" href="http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/apple-macbook-pro-15-inch-core-i7.aspx#" style="text-decoration: underline ! important; font-weight: normal ! important; border-bottom: 0.1em solid darkgreen ! important; padding-bottom: 1px ! important; color: darkgreen ! important; background-color: transparent ! important; background-image: none; padding-top: 0pt; padding-right: 0pt; padding-left: 0pt;" classname="iAs" class="iAs">notebook</a> reached an uncomfortable 104 degrees. Also, after using the system on our lap for an hour and typing this review while watching another Hulu video, the middle of the underside increased to a hot 105 degrees. Moreover, while running the <em>World of Warcraft</em> test, we could hear the fan from 10 feet away. Still, the HP Envy 15 was even hotter, reaching 110 degrees near the vent.</p><h3>Keyboard and Touchpad</h3><p>Similar to other MacBook Pros, our unit featured a shallow keyboard with black, isolated keys that provided solid feedback when typing URLs and writing <a itxtdid="20094978" target="_blank" href="http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/apple-macbook-pro-15-inch-core-i7.aspx#" style="text-decoration: underline ! important; font-weight: normal ! important; border-bottom: 0.1em solid darkgreen ! important; padding-bottom: 1px ! important; color: darkgreen ! important; background-color: transparent ! important; background-image: none; padding-top: 0pt; padding-right: 0pt; padding-left: 0pt;" classname="iAs" class="iAs">documents</a>. The keys are backlit, a feature that can be activated manually or by the ambient light sensor, which will illuminate the keys when typing in low-light situations (such as a darkened plane cabin). While typing in a dark room, the soft glow enabled us to see the keys clearly. <br><br>Apple was the first company to introduce mouse buttons integrated into the touchpad itself, and while others have imitated it, Apple's touchpad still remains the best. Not only is it huge--4.1 x 3 inches--but we never saw the cursor jump around, as with some Dell and HP touchpads, even when using two hands. <br><br>Of course, multitouch functionality is built in, and Apple has added an extra feature called inertial scrolling. When you use two fingers to scroll down a document, it keeps scrolling for a bit even after you've completed the finger swipe; this makes it easier to scroll though large documents.</p><p align="center"><img src="http://www.laptopmag.com/uploadedImages/review/laptops/2010/apple/applemacbookpro152010_keyboard_sf.jpg" alt="applemacbookpro152010_keyboard_sf.jpg" title="applemacbookpro152010_keyboard_sf.jpg"></p><h3>Display and Audio</h3><p>As usual, we loved the bright and crisp 15.6-inch display on the MacBook Pro. Its resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels is adequate, though we suspect many photographers and other creative pros will opt for the 1680 x 1050-pixel option. While reflections from the glossy display weren't overwhelming, it's also nice to know there's an antiglare option--though only for the higher resolution display. Still, colors were bright, blacks were deep and dark, and viewing angles were excellent both vertically and horizontally. <br><br>Speakers on either side of the keyboard provided very good audio. At full volume, the Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feelin'" filled a small room; higher tones were crisp without sounding distorted, and lower notes, such as the bass line in the song, had enough presence without being overwhelming.</p><h3>Ports and Webcam</h3><p>On the right side of the 15-inch MacBook Pro you'll find the 8X SuperDrive and Kensington lock slot. Built into the left side are two closely placed USB 2.0 ports, Mini DisplayPort, a FireWire 800 port, the MagSafe power port, and headphone and mic jacks. Conspicuous in its absence: an ExpressCard slot, found on the original 15-inch MacBook Pro (and on the current 17-inch MacBook Pro), which is replaced by an SD Card slot. For the money, we would've liked to seen at least one more USB port and HDMI. </p><p align="center"><img src="http://www.laptopmag.com/uploadedImages/review/laptops/2010/apple/applemacbookpro152010_ports_sf.jpg" alt="applemacbookpro152010_ports_sf.jpg" title="applemacbookpro152010_ports_sf.jpg"></p><p align="left"><br>The webcam above the display was excellent in a Skype video chat. The other caller said that he could make out objects in the background, as well as the stitching on our all-black sweater. The embedded microphone also picked up our voice well.</p></span></span></div> </div><br> Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1708327069490513677.post-74047470586308624652010-04-23T07:07:00.001-07:002010-04-23T07:07:09.203-07:00What happened in history on today?!<div style="font-family:times new roman, new york,times,serif;font-size:12pt"><div><p><b>April 23</b><br> <br> </p><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="5"> <tbody> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"><b>1348</b></td> <td> </td> <td align="left" valign="top">The first English order of knighthood is founded.</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"><b>1500</b></td> <td> </td> <td align="left" valign="top">Pedro Cabal claims Brazil for Portugal.</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"><b>1521</b></td> <td> </td> <td align="left" valign="top">The Comuneros are crushed by royalist troops in Spain.</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"><b>1759</b></td> <td> </td> <td align="left" valign="top">British forces seize Basse-Terre and Guadeloupe from France.</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"><b>1789</b></td> <td> </td> <td align="left" valign="top">President George Washington moves into Franklin House, New York.</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"><b>1826</b></td> <td> </td> <td align="left" valign="top">Missolonghi falls to Egyptian forces.</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"><b>1856</b></td> <td> </td> <td align="left" valign="top">Free Stater J.N.
